As someone who went rafting for the first time last summer, may I say to blktour: DO IT. Rafting is amazing. Class 2 is fun but not scary. I definitely want to raft the Rogue sometime. I think this summer we're looking at doing the Umpqua or Deschutes (a friend is a guide on the Deschutes).
You might be passing my way too--I'd say let's meet up but since I am getting married at the end of August, August is full.
