I think that overflow flood pictures always look so beautiful because the water is murky and tranquil. You know there's more hiding just beneath the surface, but it's unreachable until the waters receed.

I liked your out-of-context quote: it showed a certain creative inventiveness to take an off-the-cuff remark about niche audience and relations, uttered by yourself, and apply it another situation in which the audience (America at large) barely even took notice. And since you were not involved in the participation here until as of late, I found it all the funnier (until you actually did pop in).
Maybe there's something wrong with my funny bone; it's too dry.

I also was thinking about taking a message about whether or not this topic was in the right place, because while "irrelevant" news does go into Found on The Net most often, since this flood actually affected some of our community, then I thought it might be more appropriate in a venue such as 'Tilted Life' (not sure what I have against GD all of these years; it still seems so vague).
