More TN counties added to disaster zone

Eleven more counties, most of them in West Tennessee, have been declared disaster areas by the federal government, bringing the Tennessee disaster zone up to 21 counties. Carroll, Crockett, Decatur, Fayette, Gibson, Hardeman, Haywood, Henderson, Houston, Madison and Obion counties have been added to the disaster zone, Gov. Phil Bredesen said in a statement Thursday. Another 10 counties — Davidson, Williamson, Cheatham, Montgomery, Dyer, Hickman, McNairy, Perry, Shelby and Tipton — had already been declared disaster areas. Bredesen’s office has asked the federal government to declare 52 of Tennessee’s 95 counties disaster zones.
