It has been a pretty intense weekend. What struck me was how much of Middle Tennessee was/is flooded, not just along rivers and creeks but some places flooded out on nothing more then the volume of rain! The area of damage is extensive, stretching across middle and western Tennessee, Kentucky, Mississippi (torn up last weekend by tornadoes), Alabama and Arkansas which was also carved up pretty bad with some devastating tornadoes during the rain. It got a little scary at times, the bright sun, clear skies and 86 degree temps are a welcome change of pace today.
It really could have been worse here. We saw a lot of rotation over Tennessee but I don't think any tornadoes actually touched down or were strong enough to produce any damage. I can only imagine the devastation had a few killer tornadoes ripped through the area on top of all the rain and flooding.
Mother Nature, while a raging whore sometimes, is quite a spectacular thing to behold.
