Space bags are good for storage but the vacuum seal is usually terrible on them, for anything smaller than towells I usually go for a 2 gallon hefty bag with the slide-zipper and expect that to lose a seal too. If all you want is protection from the ambient crud though they're pretty bloody good for dust, dirt, bugs, and even minor water intrusion.
Also had a Magic Bullet for a while and it worked great at first... except they have serious longevity issues. The thing uses a replaceable silicone ring on one part that has a powerful desire to become one with your meal and the whole thing's noisy as all hell with a tendency to overheat.
