Julian Hibbard is a thirty seven year old English photographer.
Julian’s photographic journey began in 1992 at Kingston University in London where he studied Intermedia Fine Art Photography. Upon graduating in 1995, he assisted the German advertising photographer Andreas Heumann.
Hibbard's work revolves mainly around storytelling, memory, movies and what we can tell through the lens of a camera. What one finds in his approach with his photographs rely on parallel and telling various stories. His photography has been exhibited in London, Scotland, Santiago de Chile and Los Angeles. In May 2008, he exhibited at the prestigious Fundación RAC Gallery in Pontevedra, Northern Spain. Most recently, in December 2009, Julian particapted in a charity group show with View Imaging at 401 Projects in NYC.
He has worked for several magazine such as: Fascineshion.com, Surface Magazine, Elle, Label, Dpict, Victor by Hasselblad, Wallpaper, Flavorwire, Spin, etc... And among his notable awards and honorary mentions include the 2008 International Photography Awards, the 2006 Black & White Spider Awards and selection for the 4th Annual Surface Magazine Avant Guarde Competition, to name just a few.
