Close to 0% here on how much sports matter to me. Or at least what most people consider sports.
For participation as a kid, I played a couple of seasons of varsity football in high school until a dislocated knee and a separated pelvis sidelined me. I was the captain of my varsity track team for 2 years too. In college, I rode for our cycling team off-road and on. I wasn't the fastest, but brought home some points. As an adult, I don't do anything that I think of as 'sport'. More like I go outside and play for a while. Cycling, kayaking, hiking, occasionally running, that's about it.
As far as spectating, I do watch MMA when I get the chance. I'll catch olympics, track and field, or cycling events if they happen to be on, but I won't go out of my way to see them. Team sports that are big in the US, I just couldn't give a hoot about.
It's a bit funny since I look a bit like a 'jock' guy still, 6'4" and built big. I also work at a university that is HUGE into its basketball traditions. I get people coming up to me all of the time trying to strike up conversations about how this team or that is doing in some playoff or other. Half of the time I barely know what sport they are talking about.
