Rob wanted to split the vote so that if they played the idol it would be a tie. Russell had to guess that that was their plan, then pick out Tyson for being the one that would vote for him, and lie to him so well that he would change his vote to Parvati, THEN give up his own idol to Parvati at Tribal, and hope all went well...and it did.
