It looks like Jason Momoa of Stargate Atlantis fame has been slotted as the next Conan. Coincidentally, he's also been cast to play Kahl Drogo in the upcoming HBO miniseries A Game of Thrones. I plan on seeing both of these.
I'm actually a bit relieved they didn't go the route of talentless bodybuilder as was rumoured. I want to be able to take a Conan reboot quasi-seriously.

New barbarian set for franchise reboot

Jason Momoa ("Stargate Atlantis") has been tapped to star in the reboot of "Conan" for Nu Image/Millenium, Lionsgate and Paradox.
Production on the remake is expected to start in March in Bulgaria. Marcus Nispel will direct.
Avi Lerner and Joe Gatta are producing with Paradox topper Fredrik Malmberg. Paradox holds the rights to "Conan."
The project's been in development for a decade; Paradox had set it up at Warner Bros. but decided against a new rights deal three years ago and went to Nu Image instead.
Nispel came onboard last June to reinvent the Robert E. Howard-created barbarian portrayed onscreen by Arnold Schwarzenegger in three films during the 1980s. German-based Splendid Films acquired the rights to "Conan" for German-speaking territories and the Benelux countries at November's American Film Market.
