I can attest to being weirded out by this one. Had a friend who worked STAR (The dorm night staff) and I walked with her a few times in East (when she made her hourly rounds), when you walk along the lower levels into a certain hallway, you get that "something ain't right" vibe. Weirded me out (I was also a bit high, but then it is Boone). She was a trooper tho, did that job for a year and said she got used to the feeling. She did say at times she caught a glimpse of a person and never could find the student she saw. Doors slamming shut at random times, beating on windows, and footsteps that could be heard echoing through the hallways.
That dorm was OLD, the oldest building on campus and the only original dorm left in the college that still housed students.

Newton, NC: The town's movie-theatre was partly destroyed by fire sometime back in the 1930s, and at least one person was trapped and burned alive by the fire. The ghost of this person, a 13yr-old Black girl who was trapped trying to escape the Balcony (now 2nd screening room) by a narrow passageway and stairwell which at the time was the only entrance/exit. To this day, that stairwell gives me the creeps. Something trapped in there HATES my White ass!
