Actually, I don't know if I'd call that a terribly large number. For a while I've had a funny quip about the Yellow Pages here in Toronto: "The two largest sections in the Yellow Pages are plastic surgeons and divorce lawyers." (It might actually be true...it's at least not that far off the mark.)
There's an "institute" for plastic surgery just down the street from me in a rowhouse that was converted from residential to commercial. It's just one of
many that dot this city of 2.48 million people. Help me do the math: do you think there are more than 25 plastic surgery clinics in the City of Toronto? How many surgeries would they need to do per week to stay in business?
As an aside, plastic surgery has lost much of its taboo...in the same vein as tattooing and piercing.
