I've been told that CARFAX is cracking down on this sort of use of their service and am therefore closing and this thread. They also don't offer unlimited reporting anymore, so there's not much use. Anyone who wants to help out the last few posters can PM them, but we will not be accepting any further requests and will be removing the thread in a few weeks.
If you're looking at buying a car, don't be an idiot like me and just cough up the $100 or so it costs to have a pre-purchase inspection done. Carfax didn't show shit on my car and the engine blew 6 weeks after I bought it because of an issue that any competent mechanic would have spotted.
