The funny thing is, Celebs are just people. Actors, comedians, whatever, put on their stage face and that may not be their real self. I heard from a waitress that Eric Clapton was cheap as hell tipping for a huge party she served once.
You might love a character and hate the actor and vice versa.
Actually, if we have any celebs lurking, I would much rather get to know them as their screen name before I ever (if ever) found out who they really were. That way I could like or dislike them for themselves and not their celebrity.
As an example, I have a friend who grew up with Swanee (sp?) Hunt, of the Hunt Oil fortune. He told me that she was really really nice, but as she got older, she realized that some people only liked her for her family fortune. Consequently, she found it hard to make friends because she never was sure of a potential friend's intentions.
Imagine how THAT would suck.
