I lose 3G fairly often and seemingly at random times when I'm just sitting at my house. I've attributed that to Verizon's spotty coverage in my area though.
Edit: Oh, and I was having problems staying connected to Wi-Fi at the bar I was at Sunday for football. I lost 3G altogether and it wouldn't stay connected to the bar's Wi-Fi for more than a few seconds...of course, I may not have been really coherent at the time...
