Was thinking about this combination today. I never quite understood the love people have for tomato soup. The commercials make it look fantastic - big steaming bowl with a grilled cheese sandwich for dipping. But whenever I've had tomato soup, I can't bother with more than 3 spoonfuls due to it's acidity. Each swallow is like a chemical burn going my throat ffs. It's just not yummy. However, bean & bacon soup is fabulous with grilled cheese. I'm all over that. And I like playing around / mixing up my cheeses as well. Parmesan and mozzarella has been a winner so far.
