this happens all the time.. That is why I really dislike the sheer amount of "black rights" groups.
I see just as much if not more racisim from blacks towards whites than the other way around (granted, I see that too).
the point is, we shouldnt need a big group/company backing us so that we always look to be the "victim"... Racisim should be attempted to stamp out on all sides.. Not just this white over "african-american" racisim.
personally, I feel quite offended when I hear "African-american"... If you are "African-american" then you can call me "Anglo-saxon-american"... but give me a break.. after you have had a family living here for around two centuries, continuously marrying and breeding with others here, you are American.
If you truly consider yourself "African-American" go back to Africa and see how much the African part applies ;p American basically means you are a mutt of some sort (there are very few Native americans still who are more than 50% native american)...
so trying to define oneself as /insert ethnicity/-American is pointless and helps promote racisim.
