I don't understand how you can even begin to make the argument that he US has failed in every military endeavor since Vietnam. Desert Storm was a big success, we crippled Saddam's Army and successfully liberated Kuwait.

As far as our "success" in the first gulf war, you are correct, we had an objective(defend the oil in kuwait) we did than and deterred saddam from invading further, and eventually he withdrew. That is a success in that we weren't there to try to spread our ideals or overthrow a regime, we were there to protect the oil.
