I do not believe you are correct about this. Most options would not "remove the right to sue." The proposed tort reform I'm familiar with only limits damages (to $1,000,000) and/or enacts a loser pays rule.
I remember when the ban on lawyer advertising was lifted. In the beginning it was shocking to Americans as well. In those days practicing law was still seen as a noble profession by many people. Advertising has helped change that view. In national surveys, lawyers are held to the same high esteem as used car salesmen and politicians. It's no coincidence that many politicians are lawyers.
