My SO got his first deer of hunting season on Friday, with a bow. She was a FAT, 18 month-old doe. His shot was absolutely perfect - straight through both cranial lung fields, she only made it about 50 yards before she died. Broke the arrow into three pieces, one of which stayed inside, and didn't even have enough time left to aspirate any blood. 37 lbs of nice, tender meat has been processed and frozen out of that one!
He's out hunting a 10-point buck at the moment (shotgun week..), but if he doesn't have luck today he'll be going after the 9-pointer on his parents' property with a bow, since he'll have until February to have some luck.
I helped field dress and butcher, and I get the bones to play with making tools and whatnot, so I'm happy.
Nice shot, Borla.
