I can't help it I'm famous" act of righteous indignation. Once he whored himself out to Buick, Chevron, Nike, Gatorade, Electronic Arts, Gillette, Tag Heuer, Accenture, etc. ad nauseum, he gave up his right to a "private" life.
You can't have it both ways - you can't reap over $100M
per year invading millions of people's living rooms every day via your endless advertising gigs and not expect a little attention in return.
Also, he's telling the police "Fuck off - I'm Tiger Woods; you can't touch me."
That alone makes it news.
His press release basically said the same thing to the public.
