Earned Income Credit
So, every year I qualify for EIC. Recently, though, my job informed their employees that if they qualified, they are required to fill out a w-5 and turn it into HR.
Off I went to the IRS website to find out what exactly a w-5 is. It turns out that it is an option for the taxpayer who earns EIC. They can fill out the W-5 and get EIC payments through the year instead of all at once at tax time. However, this is an option, not a requirement. My job is passing it off as a must do. I like receiving my money at tax time and am not quite so sure I want to do this. So, how do I go about addressing this with HR?
