OK, you should be able to reach the g-spot with your finger. The cervix is further back, but definitely not on the "side". And by "side" do you mean left or right? Or tip or bottom? The g-spot should be on the "top" of the vagina (if she's on her back). If you reach in with a middle finger and feel just under the pubic bone, you should feel it as a round, spongy area. The cervix can be soft like your lips or hard like the tip of your nose, depending on where she is in her cycle. It also may sit low or high, depending on her physiology. If this "bone" is actually on the side (left or right) of the vagina, and feels like something other than what I described, it might be worth exploring further or having her ask her doctor about it.
But really, it doesn't matter...if it feels good to hit it...hit it!!!
