Find a senior or beter yet a graduate student and get close to them. They can tell you wich professors to avoid, what kind of test etc. Also they may be able to get you in for earlier appointments so you can snag the classes at the times you want
Nothing worse than missing a class you need because they are full up.
See if your school allows you to audit classes. You can find out if you like a course before having to pay for it, or maybe take a course you want but don't need to graduate and don't want to pay for.
Find a major and stick with it.
