Female actors?
Just like that male actors thread but females. For me this is harder because I get distracted by sex appeal and that seriously distorts my judgement of how proficient their their acting is or isn't. For me Lindsay Lohan has phonomenal sex appeal and for a long time I found myself defending the quality of her acting against critics. I am still very fond of her but I wouldn't say her acting is anything special. It doesn't help that her choice of roles has been staggeringly bad for years.
My other favourites are Natalie Portman, Scarlett Johansson, Reese Witherspoon and Rachel McAdams. But if I'm being honest I'd watch anything any of these are in not because they are great actors (they can be but not always), but because they are extremely nice to look at. Eric Roberts' daughter (and Julia Roberts' neice) Emma Roberts has, like Lindsay, had an impressive career as a child star and I'm keen to see her in more serious films than Wildchild and Hotel for Dogs.
My favourites from bygone times are Joan Blondell, Olivia De Havilland, Faye Dunaway, Jenny Agutter and (when she was younger) Winona Ryder.
