It is absolutely mind bending that so many people think that a school should have the same decision making power as a parent. Again, please answer yes or no. Is it okay for a school to promote religion? Just because it is okay for a parent to promote it doesn't make it ok for the school to promote it. Another binary question; do you think McDonald's does this with no interest for profit and just for the interest of the community? If so, read above where their marketing director says otherwise.
They aren't eating there anyway. If they were McD's would just donate the money, but that wouldn't earn them extra cash, so they need the kids to come home and ask to go to McD's.
I'm aware marketing works well. I don't like it, but I don't mind it. What I do mind is a public organization promoting it to our youth. They are doing well; so well in fact that several people are willing to call its solicitation of children in public schools defensible.
