In case your question was not just rhetorical, pierogies are a Polish food item; similar to filled dumplings found in Chinese cuisine, though Pierogies are larger, usually about/at least 3"L X 2"W X 3/4" thick (76mm X 50mm X 20mm); typically filled with ...just about anything, but commonly sour kraut, or cabbage, or tender sauted chicken bits, or ground meat, or cheese, or potato, maybe some bacon bits and/or onion with some of these other ingredients, or dessert ones with blueberry, cherry, sweet cottage cheese, etc. First cooked and often just eaten that way, but also quite often slightly crisped up in butter, usually served with sour cream.
