Jet, Genesee is a brewery originally based in the Rochester NY vicinity. If I may borrow their own words:
The Genesee name has stood for excellence in brewing since 1878 when Mathius Kondolf established the Genesee Brewery on the east bank of the High Falls Gorge in Rochester, New York. Named for the Seneca word for "Pleasant Valley", Genesee survived the "Noble Experiment" of prohibition and grew to become one of the most famous names in brewing. Today, Genesee's quality lagers and ales continue to be brewed with the same pride and skill that made it a legend.
