The grand opening today of the Death Star II's shopping concourse was considered a great success with merchants reporting greater than expected returns.
Says trooper Mik Vlokio, "The troops been waiting for this for a long time, ever since construction started. It's a great improvement over the first Death Star, a great way to get out and socialize and there's lots of deals to be had. Hail Emperor!"
Business analysts are also pleased by the early returns that are exceeding expectations. Says Death Star Consumer Operations Manager Vile Tamiggon, "The success of this venture really shows a confidence in the Empire that has been lacking since the destruction of the first star. It wasn't just the major suppliers that were hurt by that but also a lot of small business owners. Hopefully this is a sign of recovery that we can hold onto. As long as steel production levels in the Vornalk Belt remain high and the rebellion remains suppressed, I think we'll see a lot of growth over the next quarter. The opening of this concourse and soon the restaurant and sports districts are merely the first steps. Hail Emperor!"
