Lets start off with the box art shall we? Oh, and yes, I know its kind of lame to review a demo, but this is the first game in a long LONG time that I am actually excited about. But, lets get on with it.
Alrighty then.
I had never heard of this game series before a few days ago, so I feel this should be a pretty unbiased revew.
First of all it's an island sim, and its pretty hard to make island scenery look bad. Tropico 3 does a good job at making the island, the people, buildings, water, and everything else look good.

So now that you know what the game looks like, lets move onto the gameplay.
The interface is simple, and easy to use, allowing a decent variety of buildings in the demo. They show you how many buildings will be in the full version, and it will be quite a few few buildings.
Camera controls, and controls in general are solid.
The best thing about this game however, is simply put, the fun factor. It's just an enjoyable game. You get to make and design (by addressing key points) political speeches, play with your import/export rates, taxes, make contracts, get financial aid from the USA or USSR, and a lot more.
This game has a surprising amount of depth, and the campaign mode looks to be very extensive.
The best part about this game however is the price. You can pre-order this game on steam for 35 bucks. To me, that's a steal.
I haven't been this excited about a game in a long long time. But in my book they've done everything right.

Hope you guys like it as much as I have so far!
