Honestly, I don't find that to be shallow. Perhaps the line is totally subjective, but I think there's a difference between repairing due to irregular changes (such as drastic weight loss or an accident) and 'having a little taken in here and there.'
And I don't really 'pass judgment' on people for having cosmetic surgery for other, less 'important,' reasons as long as it is within reason - rational. There is a limit, though, past which I would look at someone as being superficial and possibly not in their right mind. I do know such a person and, yes, I respect her less for what she has done to herself. But, consequently or not, I didn't find a lot to admire about her
before she started having surgeries.
