Yes. I'd say you actually described it very well. I've had difficulty for years stemming from connective tissue issues. One side of my ribcage is about 1.5 inches bigger than the other. That side likes to pop out. Three of them have done it in the past ten years and always when I'm doing something I know I shouldn't be doing... like flipping a king sized mattress in a small room by myself, attempting to carry a large dresser alone, removing my old head board that I built from the 2nd floor apartment alone. You definitely remember what you did and NOT to do it again.
I don't have any major lasting effects except that the ones that have partially dislocated are prone to do it again.
