For me, it comes down to the question of what is the Internet to us? Is it an essential service like water and electricity or is it more like Cable television?
Answer this question and the answer is clear.
In addition to this, I do not hold that a free market is rational. It does require regulation. Nothing so far has lead me to believe otherwise.
