I'm pretty sure the free week or so of playtime from the asian version still works. But you have to navigate a bit through guess work to dl and make the account. But once you get the game there is an English unofficial patch you can add that translates almost everything in game to make it playable. Scroll up a bit in the thread to check out the link to the guide so you can feel how easy or annoying it might be for you.
edit: that guide looks like its down. But I googled Guide to Chinese Aion OBT | MobiusZone and found other guides that look like they'd work.
