Oh, I found this entirely by accident about a day or two ago, and it reminded me of the thread about "tone matrices", so I left a comment in there about it as an alternative. (thread: "time waster" in Found on the Net)
I have yet to use it, but it has a great little interface that has me highly-intrigued to fiddle with it more.
