We'd been talking on line for a few months, and dating for a few weeks.
At the time I lived on the coast and she lived in the capital. I had a long standing arangement to go to a concert in the capital, with a friend who lived outside London. The friend had to drive practically past my girlfriend's house, so I asked for a lift to her place.
I arrived (very late at night) and we hopped in the sack.
I had been thinking for a while that I wanted to not have to leave her at the end of dates, and that I felt more for her than I ever had in my entire (then defunct, but still legally extant) marriage.
So I said:
"How soon can we get married?"
She came, then said we'd ask a lawyer.
