I would bet that 99.9% of that 50% are not promise ring types. Those must be some interesting nights.

We abstained I don't know how long leading up to the big day. So busy with so many things, plus we didn't live together beforehand and had to quickly combine two households.

Everything was affected by the 9-11 attacks just a few days before, so it wasn't top most in our minds.

It didn't make anything better or worse our first unexpected night in a Days Inn. More than anything, we had a great time improvising our way to Nantucket.
