For comparison sake, a regular can is $1 and a bottle 20oz is $1.50, maxes out at $2 again depending on where in the city.

Wow, that's steep! 20 oz. Coke bottles are one of the worst values you can pish away for your money's worth... I have seen them go for about $1.49-.79 a pop, and cans hover more around the $0.55-.85 range, so I guess I understand the markup that would be evident in a major metropolitan area like Manhattan.
If I were to buy soda again (which it's been about two years since I have done so personally, but I check the prices of them regularly) I always opt for the 2-liter bottle solution; it usually is between $1.25-1.50, and most oftentimes, they are on sale for $0.99, or "buy 4 for 5 bucks".
Besides the above, if I were to get back into regular carbonated consumption, which I don't think is likely at this point, I'd rather go back to the daily can of a Jones, because it is usually much sweeter than the competitors, and my stomach handles the fizz much easier than anything else I've tried.
