I am an American, so we'll start with that:

I also live in the sovereign state of Alabama:

My "ethnicity" is a mixture of Southern,

Irish,

and Scottish.

At the college where I teach, we are "The Pirates," and this fictionalized flag of Jack Rackham flies around all our sports fields and in my band room.

By the way, the study of flags is called vexillogy, and there is a monster website here that will tell you everything you ever wanted to know about 79,000 different flags.
