So you see no other outcome of a public option other than private premiums skyrocketing? Isn't that the opposite of how free market capitalism is supposed to work? Even if the government forces private insurers to cover people with pre-ex's, the added competition is supposed to drive DOWN the prices, not up, right?
My point is that right now, there really isn't competition among insurers. There isn't a market force that's driving down prices. The public option may be that force
