Time Traveler's Wife, the book, is supposed to be excellent (I've heard nothing but good things about it from a number of people, male and female). Time Traveler's Wife, the movie, is supposed to be terrible, and the people I know who read the book all got bad impressions based on the trailer. They say that an excellent book looks to have been watered down into a generic love movie with a time travel aspect thrown in. The written reviews have said much the same thing. Anyway, just saying if you like the concept you should read the book. I haven't yet, nor have I seen the movie, just figured I'd share what I've heard in discussions with others.
Anyway:
Moon: 8.5/10
District 9: 8.5/10
The two best sci-fi movies of the year, hands-down.
Done properly, I wouldn't actually mind a District 9 sequel (and Moon was made with it in mind to be the first of a trilogy). I fear a "real" budget could corrupt either film sequel though.
What I'd really like to see is a well-made District 9 video game. If you've seen it, you know how awesome that could be. Holy fuck.
