District 9 - I changed my mind. 10/10. I just watched it again and really thought the movie was well done. Originally, I felt the movie was haphazardly put together, but then I realized it was the conversations between characters that was throwing me. For so long, I have criticized main stream Hollywood movies for having painfully forced conversations. Even good movies, the interactions between characters feel unnaturally perfect, obviously staged. This movie lacked that, and in effect, upon second viewing, made the characters, even the aliens, feel more real.
