I have often thought that human reproduction needs to be revamped, at least on the female plumbing side. See if this strikes you as a solution: Once a year, any woman who wants to have children may take a luxury cruise with her man to a beach on a sheltered coast with sandy beaches. Given that this is a luxury cruise for the purposes of reproduction it can be taken as given that fertilization will occur on the journey. The Boat anchors some distance off the shore, and all women who have been successfully fertilized dive into the water, swim to the beach, then bury their egg or eggs in the sand. The next year, some weeks later, she takes a second cruise, and the babies swim out to the boat.
