I received a mix CD the other night based off a (sad) poem. I made one based on objects (stars). I plan on making another one based on some of my fears.
You can also just share cool playlists if you want.
I love to mail and receive things, and I like that if I enjoy a playlist I won't have to go download all the songs to burn myself a CD.. but whatever works to share music, I'm all for it.
