Scottish trains
The 1000th anniversary of a famous conflict between the ancient Scottish and Romans was approaching and the local city council wanted to do something to commemorate the occasion. After much debate and discussion, it was decided that the train rails would be dyed a particular shade of blue, matching the coloration the Picts wore into battle. A chemical engineer was hired to find a substance which would look right, not wear off too quickly and, most importantly, not cause a problem for the trains. He worked for several weeks, long into the evenings on this project.
Finally his work was complete. He went to his favorite pub where he normally played darts with his friends. They had missed him this past month and a half and were concerned with his well-being. He explained that he had not been hurt or sick. "I've been working on the rail woad."
