there was a brand new Captain in B Company, he wanted the men to like him but respect him, he wanted to establish his command.

it was his second day in the unit, he was still moving things into his new office. he was sitting at his desk, thinking, when he heard a knock on the door. he said "come in" and quickly picked up the phone. as a private came into his office, he held up his hand in a "just one minute" gesture and spoke into the phone, "oh yes general, getting settled in, the unit seems great, i'm glad to be here. oh thank you, i'd love to come over for dinner sometime, i'll let my wife know. ok, thank's general, good talking to you, see you soon. bye. "
