Well, I've been switching over to Ubuntu (
Ubuntu Home Page | Ubuntu) on my home systems. My reason? Cost. I'm tired of spending the amount of money I've been spending on updates for Office and trying to keep up with other M$ apps. For what it's worth I only need Word/Excel, a media player and a web browser.
Now on my DAW I am pretty much stuck with Windows XP until support for high-end audio devices gets a little better in *nix.
At work it's a different story of course. We use a mix of Redhat AS and Windows servers. They both do what they need to do with only a few hickups. I add this only to say that I'm not an OS basher ... Mac, Windows, *nix ... they're all fine. For me it comes down to cost at this point.
