I kinda agree with you. I know quite a few women my age that had never had an orgasm or had their first later in life when learned about Rabbits and such from girlfriends or cable shows. Because of this, it quickly became an acceptable tool in the bedroom for use either solo or as a couple.
Men are simply viewed as having it easier. I'm guessing there may be a slant on the sleaziness factor due to the anthropological evolution of male sexuality. Remember that not long ago, men were viewed as more manly the more notches they had in their bedpost and women were demure little things that only had sex when their husbands commanded it.
