The vision exercises are not bull. What you do (besides what B_G said) is also cup your eyes while open in order to see complete darkness (utter nothingness), gaze into the horizon and close them for 10 seconds or so. It simply relaxes the muscles because as explauined above, they are fixed at one position for lengthy amounts of time.
Time to break out the broken record. Dude, what is your exercise like? No seriously, exercise does relieve stress and cures pretty much common ailments e.g. colds, headaches, aches in general etc etc. If yiour not eating right look into vitamins and shakes.
