Short of finding a VHS/DVD album of classic cartoons in some retail outlet, (which is easier said than done 5-10 years ago) or subscribing to the
Boomerang channel, it was slim-pickings to be able to enjoy good ol' nostalgia of those Saturday morning rituals we all so dearly partook and reveled in weekly a lifetime ago.
Time passed, with that thought in mind occasionally nagging me to do something about it. So, it was a couple years ago that I had discovered
Looney Tunes had its own site with online watchable videos, (which can now be found
here, and the layout has changed drastically since my last visit) and to tell you that I was content with this revelation is beyond words. It was a flood of good feelings and laughter I had long since forgotten until I lived it all over again. Later, I found a backdoor into the site, which allowed me to download the videos that were being streamed. So, I loaded up about 50 or so cartoons, and transferred them to an iPod and it was good times from there on in. As it is now, I'd love to trawl Amazon for classic Popeye movies that I had on VHS, and upgrade to DVD if they have produced them.
I'm a guy who loved his daily characters in cartoons, and would give just about anything to be able to reconnect with them again.
