'Same difference' is used when one person cares about the difference between two things and the another either doesn't care or doesn't see it.
'can i have the blue one?'
'we don't have blue, but we have it in the lovely cyan'
'same difference'
and while i use this phrase often, that's the only example i can think of ... and it's not all that great.
